The Firebird 2.1.1 packages are now in ppa for Ubuntu Dapper, Gutsy , Feisty , Hardy and Intrepid Ibex

You may have heard of “Ubuntu Netbook Remix”, a special edition of Ubuntu for so called “netbooks“, which was showcased by Canonical at Computex.
In ubuntu atom cpu is named lpia and firebird/flamerobin builds just fine on it (is low power x86 so it should be ok)
Firebird 2.1.x will be included in the top most popular linux distributions
This feature was requested on ubuntu bug tracker and now fix is released in firebird2.0 for Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex
Firebird 2.1 will be included by default in the next Ubuntu release named Intrepid Ibex that will be released in 30 October.
As you may have noticed, debian experimental got firebird2.0 (2.0.4) and
firebird2.1 (2.1.0).
I would really appreciate if you give these some testing.
Lazarus Ide is now included in Ubuntu Hardy/Intrepid and can be easily be installed and then can work with Firebird
The security bug is now fixed in debian experimental
