Asus WL-HDD is an mipsel machine so with custom firmware (linux toolchain) it may be possible to install firebird on it.
In a chat with Dmitry Yemanov, I was told that Firebird 2.0 RC5 should be out until the end of this week, and it has great chances to become FB 2.0 final release.
I will be doing 2 talks about Firebird 2.0 in the 7th Delphi Developers Day, in São Paulo – Brazil, next saturday (30/September). The conference is promoted by DUG-BR and subscriptions can be done online in the DUG site.
HardSoft #277 brings another interview from the 3rd Firebird Developers Day conference. This time Luiz Paulo de O. Santos talks about Firebird security and why people should contribute with Firebird Foundation. Video is available (and also shows some general images from the conference) – audio is in portuguese.
I post here code excerpt from my test MFC app, as someone else might find it useful, because the matter is poorly documented and I had to dig FB .NET data provider source code to manage. The code using FB client API can create a new FB DB with specified Forced Writes flag (BOOL m_bFW), or change the flag for existing database.

We have a new poll at FirebirdNews site. Don’t forget to vote! The poll is visible in the main page.
For those who would like to promote the conference in their sites, you can use the banner available at www.firebirdnews.org/imgs/fbconf2006.jpg
Just a brief note to let everybody know that there are less than 10 days left to register for the conference at the Early Bird rate.
Early Bird: €399.00 (Euros), $479.00 (USD), £279.00 (UKP) until 30th Sept 2006
Conference details, speakers, sessions etc can be found at:
