MySQL versus Firebird – SQL standard features
Peter Gulutzan (ex Mysql at Oracle arhitect) decided to compare the current versions of MySQL 5.6 and Firebird SQL 2.5. he only looked at SQL standard features that end users can see, without benchmarking

It’s a weird score because they (Sun/Oracle) didn’t delivered mysql 6 and compared to it Firebird 3 is a major arhitectural change and rewrite and it doesn’t deserve the penalty box
