Mufin Music Player using Firebird

This article says that Mufin is using “”Firebird SQL-Server Magix Edition” (huh?!).

I guess that they just modified the Firebird installation to set it up on a custom port so that it does not get in the way with other Firebird installations that may be present on the system. That’s similar to Microsoft SQL Server “Instances”, but much simpler and less obscure. 😉
It just hang while installing that Firebird SQL-Server Magix Edition, but that may be because I was installing other stuff in parallel. Gonna try it out sometime soon, looks not so bad and I’m looking for a good musik player for Windows, anyways. (Amarok, hurry up and finish the Windows port!)
