Migrating from Interbase v6 to MySql v5.x or stick with Firebird
For an systems that depends heavily on Stored Procedures there is no easy way migrating to mysql 5.x .It’s quite easy to migrate to Firebird

I think the subject is misleading, the original poster was migrating from Interbase to MySQL and the post you linked suggested to look at findings from an attempted Firebird to MySQL migration.
So no Interbase -> Firebird -> MySQL but Interbase -> MySQL similar to Firebird -> MySQL
and, yes, Firebird’s stored procs are much better than MySQL’s ones.
