I agree – firebirdsql.org could really use a newer design. Right now, it looks rather retro and it’s not very attractive. It’s not just the design but also graphics used all over that site – no unified style.
I thought about trying to create a design draft myself, even though I’m not a designer.
The retro design and lack of complete documentation for each version is a rather repulsive combination, particularly for Firebird newbies.
By the way, the grid-like background on firebirdnews.org and the font jungle in the background image in the footer doesn’t look very good either.
One more important reason to Firebird switch to a decent CMS like drupal or joomla.
That website is terrible. Bad looking and design, lack of info, and the most important: doesn’t look professional.
Don’t be shy. Use Drupal with MySql or other, or help them to implement a decent FB plugin.
