Helper C library for writing UDFs for Firebird in Lua (as well as a small collection of useful UDFs). The Firebird UDF interface would hopefully be obsoleted in Firebird v3.0 and replaced with the new External Engine API. Until then, I hope you find this little library helpful. Any feedback is welcome and appreciated.

For tips on how to write UDFs for Firebird yourself, read UdfWritingTips.
PS: If writing UDFs in Lua seems overkill, checkout the other UDF library written in freepascal.
Philippe Makowski posted this at fb-devel:
Hi,
I found this bench : http://tokutek.com/products/iibench/
(http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mdcallag/mysql-patch/mytools/annotate/head%3A/bench/ibench/iibench.py)
and aibench.py:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mdcallag/mysql-patch/mytools/annotate/head%3A/bench/ibench/aibench.pyI made a Firebird version of both. You can download them here : http://www.firebirdsql.org/download/rabbits/pmakowski/
If you find them useful, I will put them in the svn QA repository
I have tested the new Firebird 2.5 SuperClassic package on Debian sid and wrote the install instructions (Flamerobin and screenshots are included in the mini guide)
Today we are (IBProvider team) overwhelmingly happy because we have finally released the final build of the 3rd version of IBProvider.
Of course, you can write it! All you need is a strong desire and 7 years of free time. Exactly the same time it took us to write the third version of IBProvider.
Please read about development results here and download new Firebird driver here:

You can do this (in theory) using Firebird .Net provider and Mono via MonoDroid (private preview and seems that you need to pay for it later ) or with the opensource project androidmono
After MonoTouch on Iphone / Ipad now you can connect to a firebird database using .net provider and mono
I saw it on this tweet and Jiri answered that he will try it if he gets a MonoDroid sdk
The next release of Ubuntu will have an updated package for firebird with one hard to detect bug fixed (the Classic install one)
