FbConsole 0.7.0 is an IronPython and Windows Forms console for working with the Firebird database (ED:inspired by flamerobin)
This week Morfik Technologies announced that its WebOS AppsBuilder web development tool supports the creation of applications for the iPhone. The first sample application is a chess game.
Morfik uses Firebird as its default, built-in, database.

We are very pleased to announce the availability of the phpBB3 RC2 package. This is the second release candidate which is meant to become the Gold release if no more bugs or problems arise. Of course there may be more release candidates.
SQLLY Development team is happy to announce the availability of the next version of InterBase/Firebird Development Studio. This version supports explicit cursors and expression indices. Firebird is now included in the next ubuntu release (code named gutsy gibbon)
All you will need to do is to type this in the shell
sudo apt-get install firebird2.0-super firebird2.0-common firebird2.0-dev firebird2.0-examples
on my system i have made backups of the databases and removed all firebird related packages
