Damyan Ivanov requested from us to test the new Firebird 2.5 (almost rc1) packages on Debian based distros (Ubuntu)
I have updated the HowTo build the packages from Git repository.
There are still known big issues but you can start testing and give feedback on Firebird Debian list
For the moment Firebird won the second place but we can still vote 🙂 and change the #mysql virtual monopoly on Lamp

There are usually only two reasons why a database can be corrupted in Firebird: 1) You copied the fdb-file while the Server was accessing it and 2) You don’t have forced writes enabled and the server shut down unexpectedly (e.g. power-outage)
