We are very pleased to announce the availability of the phpBB3 RC5 package. This is the fifth (and hopefully last) release candidate which is meant to become the Gold release if no more critical problems arise.
The Firebird Project team is pleased to announce the release of Firebird V.2.0.2. Download kits should be making their way through to the mirrors now. Kits and release notes can be accessed HERE.
The osFinancials development team has released the new Release Candidate 6 which is the base for the new 2.0 series.

Heads up to anyone working with the sourcecode from svn trunk. I’ve just merged the new Setup system. The new system provides a lot more helpful information during setup and is designed such that if an error happens, the process can continue if the cause of the error is corrected.
The development team does believe we are hitting this 2.0 series in a short time from now, expected around the 1sth of September.
In the meantime we encourage you to test this RC5 version to the limit and report any defect found to the bug tracker so we are able to address your found defect.
It was with sorrow that we learned of the death last month of David S. Rushby, aged 27, in a drowning accident in the Black Sea at Anapa, Russia. David has been the sole developer and maintainer of our KInterbasDB Python interface for some years. For the last nine months he worked as project manager in the information technology division of Tander, Inc. in Krasnodar, Russia. Our sympathies to his parents, Mr and Mrs W. F. Rushby, of Blue Grass, VA, U.S.A., and family. Obituary.
In the ongoing effort to convert more users into paying customers, MySQL announced today that they are no longer making the source code tarball for their Enterprise server publicly available. You could see this coming from a million miles away.

Please everybody use anonymos cvs access to download an ibWebAdmin 2.0 preview. This is known to work only with php5 and Firebird and Firefox
