Today (20-Aug) is the last day to subscribe for the Brazilian Firebird Developers Day Conference.
Firebird Developers Day is in today (15/Aug) editions of the “Jornal de Piracicaba” and “A Tribuna Piracicabana” newspapers.

Brazil is a really big country, and the 11th edition of the Firebird Developers Day conference will receive attendees from 14 different states. There are people travelling more than 2.000km to come! The map below has a partial list of the origins of those people (click the marks to check the distance to the conference place). It is still a partial list, since the subscriptions are still open!
Today, 15/July, is the deadline to submit talks proposals for the Firebird International Conference, to happen in Prague, in the end of October. More information here.
The official site for the FireServer Project is now on-line! You can find basic information about the project. There are no ISO downloads available yet. We expect to have the first ISO until the end of August.
Fireserver is a project of a custom linux server distro that includes Firebird as default database server, and can be used freely by any company who want to simplify their customer’s servers administration and support.

We’re approaching Beta 1 (hopefully to be released in July), with one more Beta to follow and then RC appearing this Autumn, probably around the conference time.
