So the O3 gcc optimization was the problem.

Very good! It would be nice to have jaybird working in Android too.
I agree but jaybird is using some JEE JCA classes and it will be quite Fat when it will include all the required dependencies , not impossible but help from the java devel is needed
With java you have already more problems than with c++ code , strange isn’t it ? 😉
