FirebirdNews – Now integrated with OpenID, etc.
Now, if you have an account with Google, OpenID, Yahoo or Blogger, you can login and post comments to FirebirdNews without the need to create a local account! This simplifies a lot the login/account handling process, and I hope we will start to see much more comments to the posts!
To use the new feature, just click the “log in” link (at the SideBar “Meta” section) and choose what provider you wanna use.
If you already have a local FirebirdNews account, sign-in using your local username/password, edit your profile, and use the option to link your local account to any of the supported log-in providers, and you are done!
usualy i install bbpress to for forum part if there is a need but i don’t know …
http://bbpress.org/
No, FBNews should not carry a forum. We already have enough discussion lists for Firebird.
what i find strange is that i have to login/redirect to a strange website and not on google or wordpress , that extension it’s a little bit strange
i’m redirected to rpx , i will check if there is a better wp plugin for openid
It is not strange, it is “as design”. RPX is the “link” between the site and OpenID, Google, etc. for this plugin. I searched several wordpress plugins, and this is the best one. If you don’t feel comfortable, just use the normal login process as you did before.
